App to launch boat charters this weekend in Dubai

Wanna have a yacht party complete with complimentary DJ and free drinks?

There’s an app for that — and it’s already on your phone.

Everyone’s favorite on-demand car service is venturing into unchartered waters by launching UberYACHT this weekend in Dubai. The service will offer guests who reserve a spot a round-trip voyage along Dubai’s shoreline with complimentary food and drinks and resident DJs from NIkki Beach spinning wax.

“At Uber we are constantly innovating our services,” Uber United Arab Emirates GM Chris Free told CNN. “We want to be more than just a leading global technology app, we want to provide experiences at the push of a button.”

The yacht ride costs $82 and guests can reserve up to three spots for their friends.

While it’s unclear if UberYACHT will be setting sail in other markets in the future, it’s likely that new Uber board member Arianna Huffington would probably vote “Yes” on the matter.

Should you be in Dubai and manage to grab a seat, don’t forget to tip your captain.
