Maybe it’s Black Friday and you need a little post-shopping excursion fix. Maybe the bird dried out overnight and needs some sprucing up to achieve palatability. Maybe you just want to add a little panache to that twice-weekly turkey sando that, let’s be honest, has been in need of an update for some time now.
The bottom line is, you’ve got turkey. And unless you get creative, that turkey is never going to taste as good as it did fresh off the carving board.
So we paid a visit to Melanie Landano of Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors at the Pennsy NYC for a quick session on the ultimate Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich. Check out the video above for your marching orders, and then grab the recipe for her signature cranberry aioli below.
Then maybe switch to pants with an elastic waistband.
Recipe for Cranberry Aioli
INGREDIENTS
Leftover cranberry sauce
2-3 tbsp mayonnaise
Fresh sage
Lemon zest
DIRECTIONS
Mix 2-3 tablespoons of mayo with leftover cranberry sauce to your desired taste and consistency. Add a little lemon zest and sage. Apply generously as base layer to bread. Enjoy.
