The Speed Art Museum’s annual bourbon auction is going virtual, but it’s actually easier than ever for whiskey fans to bid on some extremely rare brown spirits.

The “Art of Bourbon” auction on September 24 (Editor’s note: The new date is October 15) is both a free and live event; if you’re interested, you’ll just need to log in and you’ll be able to place bids in real time. All proceeds support education programs and exhibitions at Louisville’s Speed Art Museum.

Highlights from this year’s event include:

  • Black Bowmore 1964 50-Year-Old: Considered one of the most rare single malt whiskies ever created, estimates for this item are up to $80,000. Each bottle is encased in a handmade Scottish oak cabinet.
  • Maker’s Mark Barrel Selection: The winning bidder and up to nine friends will get to create their own personalized barrel of Maker’s Mark bourbon (with help from the MM team, natch).
  • Knob Creek Single Barrel Select Rye Experience Estimate: Pick your own barrel — usually a perk reserved only for restaurants. For an estimated $18,000, you’ll get about 150 customized bottles.
  • Heaven’s Door — Bob Dylan’s whiskey — is releasing a 26-year aged whisky finished in extremely rare Japanese Mizunara Oak barrels.

Plus, there are rare releases from Michter’s, Willet, Old Taylor and more up for grabs.
