Two weeks after leaving Fox Sports and his FS1 talk show Speak For Yourself, Jason Whitlock has found a new home alongside Clay Travis at Outkick.

In a Monday morning post on his site, Travis made the announcement that the 53-year-old conservative host would be coming aboard as a full-time partner.

Travis called the addition “one of the biggest talent acquisitions in the history of sports media on the Internet” and said he was  “ecstatic” about Whitlock joining his team.

“Indeed, if you told me I could draft anyone in sports media to work alongside at Outkick, Jason Whitlock would be my top pick,” Travis wrote. “He’s a perfect fit for Outkick as we stride into the 2020’s — a fearless voice unconcerned with upsetting anyone with his intelligent fact-based opinions.”

Whitlock tweeted that joining Outkick is the “biggest, most exciting challenge of my career.”

He also penned a column explaining why he chose to leave FS1 (the network reportedly offered him an extension that did not include a raise) for Outkick.

“It’s hard to be me at a modern mainstream media company,” Whitlock wrote. “The things that define me are under attack. Social media has prioritized race, gender, sexuality and political ideology well ahead of God and country. The mainstream media’s addiction to social-media traction does not comfortably accommodate someone with my beliefs speaking my truth.”

The pairing of Whitlock and Travis at Outkick seems like a natural fit as their right-leaning sensibilities should mesh well together. For the time being, Travis is an on-air personality at FS1 and it will be interesting to see if this move somehow impacts that.

On the Speak For Yourself side of things, Whitlock was replaced by former Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho, who will join co-host Marcellus Wiley beginning this month.
