Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is getting plenty of satisfaction from the love and affection his bandmates are showing him as he recovers from heart surgery.
Stones’ guitarists Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards have been keeping their old friend’s spirits high via cell phone videos as they await his return, Billboard reported.
“Sally [Wood’s wife] and I went on a break to the Caribbean with Keith [Richards] and [his wife] Patti and sent him videos of us playing and singing get well songs on the guitar,” Wood reportedly told Hello magazine. “That cracked him up. We’re all so pleased that he’s doing well.”
Jagger, 75, underwent a successful surgery to replace a heart valve earlier this month. The rock legend is expected to make a full recovery but it is currently unclear when he’ll be able to return to the stage. The Rolling Stones are rescheduling their 17-date North American No Filter Tour, which was supposed to start a few weeks ago so that Jagger could have the procedure.
Billboard reported that while the Stones have officially pulled out of this year’s Jazz Fest in New Orleans, the band will likely perform again some time in July, according to the magazine’s sources.
