Plenty of artists have places where they go to create and fine-tune their latest projects. For some, that might be an artistic retreat; for others, a bespoke studio where they can assemble new work in relative seclusion. For Kanye West, apparently, that ideal location happens to be a stadium capable of holding tens of thousands. Fleetwood Mac brought in a marching band for Tusk; for his long-in-the-works album Donda, West is foregoing the marching band and bringing in the entire stadium.

Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, to be exact. West also held a listening event for Donda there earlier this week, but reports have emerged that he’s both finishing the album there and living there while he does so. A new article at Consequence cites reports that he’s built a living space within the facility. And, apparently, he’s also taking in some soccer while he’s down there.

While the idea of living in a stadium might seem strange at first, the current state of the concept is less Brewster McCloud and more high-end hospitality. Around the world, a number of stadiums and arenas have hotels built in. Bayern Munich’s home ground has a suite with a view of the field, for instance, and the rise in popularity of luxury suites and player lounges takes a similar approach.

As for when Donda will be out, that remains to be seen. The latest reports suggest a release date of August 6.
