Candace Cameron Bure made it clear that the Fuller House family sticks together when she addressed co-star Lori Loughlin’s involvement in the college admission bribery scandal.

The star offered a brief response during a Today appearance on Tuesday, reported Huffpost.

Today co-host Hoda Kotb asked Bure and co-star Jodi Sweetin about Loughlin, who is among at least 50 parents accused of using bribery to get their children into a prestigious university in the massive college admissions scandal that broke last month.

“It’s too personal to us, and we would never want to talk about someone that’s such a dear and close friend,” Bure said. “I’ve already said that we are family and we stand by each other and pray for each other and we’ll always be there for each other.”

Bure made a similar statement while accepting an award at last week’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, saying, “A loving family sticks together, no matter what.” According to Huffpost, some interpreted the remark as an indirect nod to Loughlin.

Fellow co-star Bob Saget later commented on Bure’s statement, telling TMZ, “You love who you love in your life … Life’s complicated,” Huffpost reported. Meanwhile, castmate John Stamos has reportedly declined to comment.

Loughlin, with her husband, is accused of paying $500,000 to allow their daughters to pose as members of the crew team at the University of Southern California. She turned herself in last month and was released on a $1 million bond.
