OnlyFans Has Banned Public Sex and Nudity
Outdoor sex, even in remote areas, is also off the OnlyFans menu now
Per the recent update, the platform now prohibits sexually explicit content that “was recorded in or is being broadcast from a public place where members of the public are reasonably likely to see the activities being illustrated.” This, as OnlyFans creator Aspen Eden recently discovered, also applies to outdoor content filmed in remote areas. Eden, whose platform has long centered on nature and the outdoors, told Vice she first learned of OnlyFans’ new prohibition on “public” content when a rep for the site reached out in an email to let her know her content had been removed from the platform for violating the new terms. The email stated that explicit content produced outdoors is only permitted if it was made on private property, such as a private beach. Even then, creators must provide proof of ownership or permission of the owner to use that space to create explicit content.
“My niche and content has always been centered around outdoor and nature content, explicit or not. All of my content was either created on private property, secluded areas deep in the mountains/deserts or national forests,” Eden told Vice. “None of my content was ever made in a public area with people around or the chance of people walking up. No parking lots, busy streets or public parks. I’ve never and would never want to put someone in a situation where they haven’t consented to seeing me nude.”
OnlyFans’ “public” sex ban is the latest addition to the platform’s ever growing list of forbidden content, stoking fears that the adult-friendly site will soon go the way of many before it and eventually quash all NSFW content as it attracts more mainstream attention, users and advertisers who have a history of not wanting to be associated with explicit content.
