Love him or hate him, there’s no denying Trump has a knack for one thing on the campaign trail: nicknaming his competitors. From “Lyin Ted” to “Crooked Hillary,” no one has been safe from the Donald’s supercilious cut-downs.
But the tables have turned on the playground bully of Election 2016. Trump has been trumped at his own game by MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, who dubbed him “Amnesty Don” yesterday. By mid-afternoon, it was the top trending hashtag on Twitter.
“Think about this, for 14 months, Amnesty Don, and a lot of people are calling him Amnesty Don. People are saying it, they’re calling him Amnesty Don … I’m not calling him that, Amnesty Don. Hashtag #AmnestyDon,” Scarborough said, mocking the Republican nominee with his own brassy signature style.
Scarborough’s comments came about after Trump seemed to be softening up on his characteristically strong stance on immigration. While it’s still up in the air what Trump will decide is his final say on the subject, judging by Twitter, one thing’s for sure: #AmnestyDon is here to stay.
Who can guess my stance on immigration? Winner will get a bag of cheetos. #amnestydon

#AmnestyDon is giving a major speech to clarify last week’s speech that clarified the townhall that clarified the previous speech. Clear?
