Clearly, he does not back down.

Tom Hardy does not back down from a bet, even if he loses. Back in 2016, he told Esquire that he had a bet with his Revenant co-star Leonardo DiCaprio about getting an Academy Award nomination for the Alejandro González Iñárritu film. DiCaprio predicted that Hardy would be nominated for his performance in the film. So Hardy bet a tattoo of the winner’s choosing that he wouldn’t get nominated. Hardy lost that bet. DiCaprio, a longtime Oscar hopeful, finally earned his first Oscar for the film, but more importantly, he also won the bet when Hardy received a Best Supporting Actor nomination as well. So what’s the tattoo? DiCaprio wrote in terrible handwriting “Leo knows everything.” Hardy told Esquire UK, “I was like, ‘OK, I’ll get it done, but you have to write it properly.’” It had been unclear if Hardy had actually done it, but in a new picture of Hardy posted on bartender Andrew Calisterio’s Instagram, you can see part of the words “Leo knows everything” on the actor’s right bicep.
