GQ’s Caity Weaver took Tiffany Haddish on a whale watch to talk about her superstardom, and the result is unsurprisingly delightful. Following Haddish’ breakout in last summer’s Girls Trip, she has become not only one of the most formidable new stars in recent Hollywood history, but also an ambassador for public expressions of joy. Her appearances on talk shows and at the Academy Awards have added exuberance to the broadcasts, a skill she’ll soon bring to HBO and possibly to movies by Paul Thomas Anderson and Judd Apatow. On the whale watch, Haddish also teased a mystery-shrouded encounter she had with Beyoncé, in which Haddish volunteered to fight an unnamed actress who, according to Haddish, bit Beyoncé. What is clear is what a pleasure it must be to share a whale watch with Tiffany Haddish.
