The return of Roseanne scored 18.2 million viewers on Tuesday night, putting it ahead of Sunday’s 60 Minutes Stormy Daniels episode in the key 18-49 demographic, according to Entertainment Weekly. For any network show to beat the much-talked-about Stormy Daniels interview is an accomplishment, even more so for a half-hour sitcom. Though full viewership data have not yet been released, Roseanne seems to have earned the largest audience for a comedy in recent history. Its 18.2 million viewers puts Roseanne ahead of most episodes of This Is Us, NBC’s smash hit.
