Quit Your Job: Someone’s Actually Hiring a Professional Pizza Eater

Good luck explaining this one to the missus ...

It’s been said that “anyone who says money cannot buy happiness has clearly never spent their money on pizza.” (We’d argue they probably didn’t spend their money on a Porsche 911, either.) If that’s true, then wouldn’t getting paid to eat pizza be the equivalent of Neapolitan nirvana?

There’s only one way to find out — apply for this job.

Offered by Bath Pizza Co. in Merry Old England, the “pizza taster” position is seeking an experienced pizza connoisseur “with a love for wood-fired flavors” to sample the menu. Using their “cultured palate” and solid culinary communications skills, the ideal candidate will generate feedback for the head chef and exert influence on menu changes and updates.

The part-time role requires two hours of work per week and the compensation is a competitive salary with serious pizza perks. “Location doesn’t matter,” Bath Pizza Co. says in the job posting. “We’ll even cover your travel costs — flights, train fares, fuel — for the right candidate.”

We hear the job pays in pounds. Both kinds.
