Conor McGregor Set to Appear on ‘Game of Thrones’

If a new rumor that’s been circulating in Ireland actually hits home, it’s a pretty safe bet Game of Thrones will be re-writing its script to once again include trial-by-combat in the near future.

While UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor was in Belfast last week for appearances, a source with ties to the 28-year-old revealed he was “headhunted” to appear in the HBO show.

“One of the Game of Thrones directors is a huge UFC fan. They believed that he would be a perfect fit for the show,” the source told The Belfast Telegraph. “It’s been agreed that McGregor will appear in one of the remaining two seasons of Game of Thrones.”

Adding some legitimacy to the report is the fact that, if he does appear on GoT, McGregor won’t have to travel very far to shoot — the show films in Northern Ireland quite often.
