Saturday Night Live‘s cold open sketch took aim at the Trump family for the second week in a row. In the this week’s skit, the show brought back iconic actor Robert De Niro to once again play Special Counsel investigator Robert Mueller, who haunts the bedroom of presidential son Eric Trump.
After older brother Donald Jr. assures Eric that everything is okay, Mueller suddenly appears at the younger brother’s bedside. “Don’t be scared, it’s just me, Robert Mueller, you’re dad’s friend from work,” Mueller says. He goes on to tell Trump “No matter what happens American is going to be just fine.”
Later, Eric says: “Mr. Mueller, people say you’re the worst thing to ever happen to my dad.” To which, Mueller patiently replies: “No, Eric, getting elected President was the worst thing thing that ever happened to your dad.”
