We don’t usually head to a bodega for lunchtime magic.
But there’s some of that in store at Tony’s on 24th Street — home to Pal’s, our favorite sandwicherie in town, now celebrating its sixth anniversary with the return of its guest chef series.
For the next three weeks, some of the city’s best high-steppin’ toques will add their talents to the line-up at Pal’s, each showcasing something different from the fare that made them famous.
Starting Wednesday, Sharon Ardiana — of Glen Park pizzeria Gialina — will present a coffee-braised brisket with beet-horseradish mayo and arugula.
Week after that, it’s Anthony Myint of Mission Chinese with a lamb black-pepper gyro.
On April 1st: Chris Kronner of Kronnerburger — newly relocated on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland — and his smoked trout, sunchoke and caraway mayonnaise, pickled pork skin and bibb lettuce.
