There’s something to be said for seafaring; for plying the deep blue with nothing but the wind and the waves to keep you company.
There’s also something to be said for scantily clad women.
Speaking for both: Manhattan By Sail, now accepting bookings for their first full season of themed sails beginning next week.
Sailing soirées are held on both an 82-foot Gatsby-era sailing yacht and a pirate-worthy 158-foot-tall ship. Seagoers cruise the waters of New York Harbor, taking in both city sights and onboard entertainment that varies by the night of the week. To wit:
- Burlesque Sail – A ten-to-midnight cruise featuring copious cocktails and a “scintillating burlesque and variety show” from a rotating crew of NYC’s best hoochie coochie dancers, hosted by renowned performer Wae Messed.
- Cocktail Sail – Each month, different local distillers from Casa Mezcal to NY Distilling Company pour their wares for a guided tasting on the water, complete with specialty cocktails spotlighting the evening’s chosen hooch.
- Lobster and Beer Lovers Sail – Two powerhouses of the crustacean and suds game, Luke’s Lobster and Dogfish Head Brewing, get together to dish out tasty lobster rolls and unlimited craft beer.
