The humble bumper car.

Easy and thrilling to drive as a kid, harder to fit into and far less thrilling as an adult.

So YouTube tinkerer extraordinaire Colin Furze decided to make a few adjustments to his untethered bumper buggy to make it more adult friendly — a motorcycle engine chief among them. After cramming a 600cc four-cylinder into his vehicle, Furze enlisted the services of Top Gear’s The Stig to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for fastest bumper car (which, yes, exists). With Guinness adjudicator Lucia Sinigaglies looking on, The Stig hit 107.39 MPH during one run and 93.28 during a second, meaning the car averaged a speed of 100.34, a new world record.

Furze’s mother should be proud.
