The latest member of the 250-MPH Club, the Evantra Millecavalli from Tuscany-based Mazzanti Automobili, finally made its big league debut this past weekend at the 2016 Turin Auto Show.

Mazzanti will be producing 25 of the cars at a rate of just five a year and three of them have already been sold for prices unknown.

“The excellent performance of the Millecavalli version marks an Italian record that makes us extremely proud,” says company founder Luca Mazzanti. “My tailor-made automobiles reflects my idea of supercars entirely. In fact, I have been dreaming of my own car, different from all others, since I was a child.”

Dream realized.

Bugattis, Koenigseggs and Porsches can do it.

Lamborghinis can too — although they’ve been known to burst into flames in the process.

Now Italian carmaker Mazzanti is hoping to join the club: the 250 MPH club.

With a twin-turbocharged 7.2-liter V-8 capable of delivering a minimum of 751 horses, Mazzanti anticipates its EV-R project will produce the “most powerful, street-legal supercar” to ever come out of Italy. Based on the existing Evantra, the aerodynamic EV-R model will be able to do 0-60 in 2.7 seconds and slow itself from 186-0 in seven seconds.

In addition to the extreme top speed and starting and stopping times, the handmade hypercar will be outfitted with carbon-ceramic brakes from Brembo, lightweight OZ Racing wheels and Trofeo R tires from Pirelli.

“When you think of a new project, the best way to make it concrete, is with setting objectives.” says company founder Luca Mazzanti. “The objectives must be then translated into numbers in order to become real.”

The world will get to see just how real those numbers get when the EV-R makes its official debut at the 2016 Turin Auto Show in June.
