If you’re looking to buy a restored vintage car or truck at auction, you’ll often have plenty of options to choose from. Far fewer in number, however, are cars that have been lovingly restored by champion race car drivers. It’s not necessarily a shocking combination, however — one assumes that someone with experience behind the wheel in high-profile settings is going to have a particular knack for getting the most out of their vehicle of choice, whatever that might be.
In the case of Jenson Button, the 2009 Formula One World Championship winner, he spent many years restoring a 1970 Ford Bronco. Now, as Robb Report details in a new article, that same Bronco is available for sale. According to the article, Button invested around $20,000 in the restoration and upgrade process — which includes things a new fuel injection system and a push button ignition system.
The listing for the Bronco at Collecting Cars has even more details on what prospective buyers can expect. This includes a naturally aspirated V8 engine, a three-speed automatic transmission and a raised suspension. As of this writing, the top bid is $45,250 — not a bad price for a car that blends vintage style with a host of modern upgrades.
