The 2017 New York International Auto Show is revving up for its big opening at the Javits Center in Manhattan on Friday.

Car enthusiasts will be onsite to strap their hands across as many engines as they can before the event wraps on April 23. Since there are going to be a lot of vehicles to take in over the next nine days, RealClearLife has made it easier by spotlighting five must-sees:

Golden ‘Egg – Fans of supercars will get an eyeful as this year’s Auto Show. One of the more noteworthy new models getting its own red-carpet unfurled? The Agera RS1 from Swedish automaker Koenigsegg. The car is powered by its twin-turbocharged 5-liter V-8 engine and busts the radar with a 0-62 mph reading in just 2.8 seconds. According to Bloomberg, each one runs about $2 million.

Preliator Gets an Engine Boost – Back at the Geneva International Motor Show, the folks at Spyker made mention that they’d signed an engine-sharing deal with Koenigsegg—i.e. that that same V-8 noted above will be installed in its brand-new C8 Preliator Spyder. Only 20 will roll off the production line, and each one will cost about $430,000, per the Associated Press.

Lucid Motors Debuts Potential Tesla Competitor – As the U.S. News & World Report notes, Lucid’s new all-electric Air could give Tesla a run for its money in the high-end electric car market. The company is currently taking refundable reservations for a car that’ll start at just over $50,000. Highly sustainable, highly affordable.

Dodge Flexes Its ‘Muscles’ – Dropping the fastest quarter-mile car in the world, Dodge is ramping up its muscle-car profile decidedly with the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, which packs 840 hp from a 6.2 liter V-8 engine, and clocks 0-60 in just 2.3 seconds. (Price TBD.)

Man’s Best Friend Gets His Own Car – If your dog’s safety (and rampant shedding) are an ongoing source of anxiety, we suggest taking a look at Nissan’s new Rogue Dogue—the first-ever made-for-a-mutt-mobile that’s getting its big debut at the Auto Show. Nissan Rogue’s retail for about $24,000, but we’re guessing with all the tricked-out features, that number will rise.
