When Singer Vehicle Design unveiled a pair of new custom Porsche 911s at Monterey Car Week, it was hard not to get distracted by their respective orange-and-gunmetal-grey paint jobs.
That said, fascination with the exteriors only lasted till Singer revealed what was under the hood. Created with help from Ed Pink Racing Engines, the special four-liter flat-six engine that Singer busted out in Monterey has 390 horsepower at 7,200 RPM and looks like a straight-up masterpiece.
With fully-customized pistons, cylinders, rods, cylinder heads and a bespoke camshaft, the spectacular engine was “meticulously developed to optimize airflow and rendered in gold anodized aluminium,” according to Petrolicious.
The build — which “oozes vintage racing chic” and was probably expensive as all hell — is an example of Singer’s commitment to “incorporating nearly anything our clients can visualize and we deem feasible.”
In this case, the 911s and the engines were visualized by, and built for, one client.
We didn’t catch his name, but he’ll hereby be known around these parts as One Lucky Sumbitch.
