Mil-Spec’s Latest Hummer Launch Edition Could Probably Eat a Tank

Be careful. It does bite.

Back in May, we first riffed on Mil-Spec Automotive’s spaceship-grade aluminum, hardtop H1.

Memory serves us right, we likened the custom vehicle to a “Hummer going full Popeye.”

Lucky for all of us, Mil-Spec promised 12 hand-built units. And their latest launch edition, the #004, drops Popeye in the desert.

Clad in a sandstorm exterior dubbed “Desert Tan,” the #004 takes its cue from Baja off-roaders, yet retains Mil-Spec’s trademark serving of beef with a 500-HP, Duramax diesel engine. You can choose from five different cab configurations — from a four-door hardtop pickup to a two-door hardtop extended bed pickup — and a bevy of exterior options, which includes heavy duty bumper mounts, tire racks and suspension packages.

The interior, meanwhile, touts duck canvas, black leather and a no-frills dash that’ll look mighty fine against your best ticker.
