NPR Tweeted the Declaration of Independence and People Got Angry and Confused
Many seemed to think the news organization was calling for a revolution against Trump.
National Public Radio has been reading the Declaration of Independence on air every Fourth of July for the past 29 years. This year, as an added celebration, they also tweeted the entire Declaration in 140-character segments.
However, some people did not recognize the lines from the cherished American document and thought that NPR was criticizing current President Donald Trump, instead of the Founders’ criticisms of King George III back in 1776. Some Twitter users accused NPR of inciting violence.
So, NPR is calling for revolution.
Interesting way to condone the violence while trying to sound “patriotic”.

Many people called for NPR to be defunded because of bias.
DEFUND #NPR let the Hollywood Elites pay for your biased propaganda

Some people even called the Declaration “trash.”
Seriously, this is the dumbest idea I have ever seen on twitter. Literally no one is going to read 5000 tweets about this trash.

Other Twitter users were quick to point out that NPR was just tweeting out one of the most well-known documents in our nation’s history.
Incredible. You may be on the wrong side of history if you think the #DeclarationofIndependence is describing #Trump & then call it “trash”. pic.twitter.com/lB2aO5sCbx

Meanwhile, President Trump celebrated the holiday by hosting members of the military at the White House.
