This Transforming Sunshade Is Like Owning a Portable One-Car Garage

Sun!? AH! MY EYES!

March 31, 2017 9:00 am EDT

The summer sun tends to turn parked cars into hotboxes despite our feeble attempts of foldable shades. It may seem a tad bit goofy, but a tent/umbrella hybrid called the Lanmodo may change all that.

Controllable via a wireless remote, the Lanmodo unfolds in just eight seconds and can provide coverage from the sun as well as dust, acid rain, bird dropping and kids spitting off overpasses.

But protecting your car isn’t all the Lanmodo can do. Outfitted with an additional stand, the take-anywhere shade can work as a waterproof beach umbrella, fishing cover or open-sided tent with room for up to seven, the Lanmodo’s stand even has a USB port for charging devices.

To access early-bird pricing when the Lanmodo launches on Kickstarter, you can sign up here.
