Missouri Auction School is oldest and largest in the world.
Ever wonder where those 10-gallon-hatted auctioneers learn to fast-talk their way to glory? It’s possible they attended the Missouri Auction School, the oldest and largest of its kind in the world, per Great Big Story.
As president of the school Paul Dewees notes, it was founded in 1905 and is known as the “Harvard” of the auctioneering world. “Just like an athlete would warm up, we need to warm up,” Dewees says, of the vocal drills he puts his students through.
