Ours may be a nation divided, but let us concede to one simple truth:
We’re better when we work together.
Here to test that democratic principle: Escape House Chicago, an interactive, real-life game of wits where you and a group of friends are locked in a room and must figure out how to get out — all in the space of an hour.
And in this instance, that room is the Oval Office. The whole experience is brought to you by SafeHouse, the interactive, spy-themed bar in Milwaukee coming to Chicago early next year.
The bar at SafeHouse, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
For the uninitiated, SafeHouse is an instution; as iconic in Milwaukee as Harley-Davidson. Since opening in 1966, it’s drawn millions of espionage enthusiasts to Brew City. It’s a place that requires a password for entry, and inside, all kinds of quirky — and awesomely corny — spy-themed delights await.
Chicago will be the site of its first (undisclosed) location outside of Milwaukee in its 50 years of existence. Expect major upgrades. Opening date: January 2017.

In the meantime, they’re giving us Chicago Escape House.
Designed with the help of Paul Daurio, whose resume includes a credit as show producer for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Escape House offers two different challenges, including the White House Escape and a covert spy-themed “Safe House” mission.
While details are obviously under wraps, we can say this ain’t your typical “escape the room” experience. And needless to say, if you are angling for the White House Escape challenge, better brush up on your political history and presidential folklore.
Whichever you choose, this sort of stuff is perfect for corporate teambuilding. Entertaining visiting family and friends. Or just wanting to do your part to save our government from literally imploding, which may or may not be too real, too soon.
Go ahead and book your experience today.
The fate of the White House depends on it.
