Your local liquor store is hopefully, mercifully, still open. However, Todd Snyder’s Liquor Store, that revived menswear outpost on West Broadway they swiped from J.Crew, is temporarily closed. But that’s not going to stop the designer from serving up sartorial cocktails.
This week, Todd Snyder and Timex are in cahoots again dropping the new Liquor Store watch, an automatic ecru beaut that’s currently available for preorder. While neither brand is admitting it explicitly, we can only imagine this watch was supposed to get a slam-bang launch at the shop, maybe with some themed cocktails, definitely attended by some well-heeled finance types with their shirt cuffs cinched up ever so slightly. But instead, we’re getting an online launch, and we’re grateful for that.
You may have a Todd Snyder x Timex in your possession already, but the Liquor Store timepiece stands out by finding a middle ground between the zany releases and the elegant ones. The matte ecru dial and olive green fabric strap (a signature Snyder color) feign humility, but the gold-tone hands and numbers and domed acrylic crystal will turn this into the subtle star of your day-to-day watch collection.

“It’s simple, strong and sophisticated — just like a great pour,” says Snyder. We’ll cheers to that. Wait, what time is it again?
