LeBron James’ movie about himself has a director.
Chris Robinson, who directed the Fox series Star and took home the BET Award for Video Director of the Year for doing the video for “03 Bonnie & Clyde” with Jay-Z and Beyonce, has signed on for Universal’s untitled movie about the NBA All-Star.
Based on the book Shooting Stars, which James wrote with Friday Night Lights author Buzz Bissinger, the film has a script which was written by Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier.
“The story is a real-life tale about how LeBron and his childhood friends beat the odds to win a championship and form lifelong bonds,” according to TMZ.
James and his business partner Maverick Carter will produce the film for their SpringHill Entertainment company.
