New York Fashion Week Spring 2018 begins Sept. 7, and its arrival comes at a time of significant change in the industry, Vogue reports. Major brands like Rodarte, Thom Browne, Proenza Schouler, and Altuzarra have chosen to leave the New York line-up for Paris, forcing organizers to shorten the event by a day. It also means attendees will have to trek around the city—from the Upper East Side to Bushwick—to catch the shows. Here are a few other highlights to look forward to before festivities kick off.
Tom Ford and Rihanna will both be returning this season, as well as Shayne Oliver and Lemur Lang; though you may not have heard of him, Rihanna favorite Matthew Adams Dolan is a fresh line to look out for, as well as Daisy, an Aussie streetwear label lauded by Kim Kardashian West.
Fashion will take to the screen in a documentary chronicling the rise, fall, and rebirth of Zac Posen’s label, Vogue notes, while costume designer Arianne Phillips is the subject of a film set to premiere September 7 at Metrograph. Attendees can also expect to see Kanye West’s Yeezy, though it’s unclear where or when that will be.
See you at the runway.
