At 24, Kloss just finished third in the latest ranking of top-earning models, making $10 million in the last 12 months with clients including Victoria’s Secret, Dior, and John Galliano. Other than the indignity of watching the Cubs win a World Series — she grew up in St. Louis and maintains one of the great moments of her life was throwing out the first pitch at a Cardinals game — it’s a good time for Karlie Kloss. This year also saw her first step into acting with a role in Zoolander 2, but she still insists her real passion is computer coding.

Kloss has put her money where her mouth is, creating the Kode With Klossy scholarship program. It offers young women access to a two-week computer camp and even a scholarship for a winner looking to kick off a tech career. Kloss says of her goals: “I think women are currently an underutilized and poorly-supported group of potential employees in an industry that has a widening gap of unfilled jobs.”
