Where you live dictates your views on cargo pants.
If you live in a major metro area, slim cargo pants with added pockets suggest more fashion than utility.
If you live anywhere else, you probably have no idea cargo pants are everyone’s favorite sartorial whipping boy.
Otherwise, you better be a first responder.
First spotted on Gear Junkie, 5.11 is an innovative gear brand that makes tactical clothes for first responders and outdoor enthusiasts. The label just refined its approach to the cargo pant with the Defender-Flex, a pant that does away with the side pockets.
Instead of bulky side pouches, 5.11 simply just made its pockets, including the fifth one, deeper.
Simple idea? Yes. Novel? Also yes. You get all the function of being able to carry more, with the clean style of casual slacks. Plus: you get two more pockets that are flush to the hip and are big enough for an iPhone.
All this saying you can carry all of your things comfortably, no matter where you live.
The pants will be available this spring. Head on over to 5.11 to check out more of the brand’s tactical offerings.
