It’s easy to sleep on the long-sleeve tee.
It’s a subcategory to the T-shirt itself, a less-heralded role player for colder weather that oft plays second fiddle to hoodies and button-downs, sweaters and cardigans.
When properly applied, though, long sleeve tees provide quality minutes. A muted option in black or white looks a natural under your go-to autumn jacket, and a zanier pull (e.g., tigers or palm trees) will inject a splash of personality into months when the sun’s saying goodbye at 4:00 P.M.
To that end, we decided to rank 12 of our favorite long-sleeve tees from 12 different brands. The rules: no henleys, no Vs (deep, or otherwise), no rugby shirts and absolutely no three-quarters.
What you will find here? Tri-blend cotton from workman’s casual menswear outlets. Cheeky graphics from brands that winter at the beach. And a Platonic blend of layerability and comfiness … all for under a hundred bucks.
