If the same Steph Curry who showed up at Oracle Arena on Sunday comes to play for the rest of the Western Conference finals, the Houston Rockets have no chance.
Curry nailed five 3-pointers and scored 35 points overall – including 18 on 7-for-7 shooting in the third quarter – as the Warriors rolled the Rockets 126-85 in Oakland to take a 2-1 series lead.
The two-time MVP had been struggling in the postseason after suffering a sprained MCL in March, so Curry’s hot shooting was a welcome sight for Golden State fans – and a nightmare to see for Houston supporters.
“I saw the ball go in, and from there I was in the right place of mind,” Curry said Sunday night. “I had amnesia, really. In my head, I’m 0-for-0 or 10-for-10 … I’m feeling good.”
For the Rockets, James Harden had 20 points and nine assists and Chris Paul added 13 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn’t nearly enough to combat Curry’s offensive explosion.
Golden State will look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead in Game 4 on Tuesday at Oracle.
