Athletes and teams — some of whom were on the Las Vegas strip — are sharing their sympathy and grief with the families and friends of those injured or killed after a lone gunman opened fire on a massive crowd attending a country musical festival Sunday night that killed more than 50 people and injuring more than 500, according to ESPN.
Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Mike Timlin safely escaped the concert, according to ESPN, while UNLV men’s hockey assistant coach Nick Robone was shot and is currently recovering in the intensive care unit. Several athletes who are Las Vegas natives took to Twitter to express their devastation.
