With his 13th three-pointer of the night, Klay Thompson tied the record his Golden State Warriors teammate Steph Curry set in November 2016 for most treys in a single game.

Then after catching a pass from Curry a few moments later, Thompson broke the record his own with his 14th three-pointer of the night.

The long-range assault was part of a night that saw Thompson pump in 52 points during Golden State’s 149-124 win over the Chicago Bulls.

The 52 points were also the most scored in the NBA this season, beating out the 51 that Curry pumped in during a win last week.

“That’s what I do this for is those moments that you share with your teammates,” Thompson said. “That’s why we play basketball. It’s a collective effort. And I don’t know if I would be able to break these records I have gotten in my past like tonight without the system I play in or the team I play with, the guys I play with.”

Instead of being sore about it, Curry showed his appreciation for Thompson’s accomplishment as only an Instagram post can.

Winners of five games in a row, the Warriors are 7-1 and sit atop the standings in the Western Conference. Only the Bucks (7-0) in the East have a better record in the NBA this season.
