Report: ISIS Threatens to Behead Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi at World Cup

The threat was made via messages and images that were released on Telegram.

According to messages and images that were released on encrypted messaging app Telegram, the main mode of communications for Islamic State, ISIS wants to behead Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi at the World Cup in Russia this summer.

In addition to calling for “lone attackers” to strike at the international soccer tournament, an image from the terror group depicts Messi and Ronaldo pinned to the ground in a stadium with their throats being cut by masked attackers.

Under the image, a caption reads: “Your blood will fill the ground.”

World Cup kicks off on June 14 when Saudi Arabia faces Russia.
