We may now have a clue why Antonio Brown was so upset that he allegedly threw pieces of furniture off the balcony of his 14th-floor apartment.
Prior to the alleged incident, which reportedly almost ended with a 22-month-old boy being hit by a vase or ottoman, Brown told police someone stole $80,000 and a handgun from his south Florida apartment, according to police reports.
A cleaning crew had been in the Pittsburgh wide receiver’s apartment while he was gone, but workers denied taking the cash or the gun and said someone else could have been in the home while Brown was gone.
The day after police visited Brown’s apartment to investigate the threat, they returned following a report about the alleged furniture throwing. Though Brown was not arrested at the time, officials at his apartment complex did start eviction proceedings against him.
The following day, police returned to the home for a third time after getting a report from Brown that his black Rolls-Royce had been stolen. Oddly, Brown did not talk to police when they arrived and simply said he had found the car.
Seeking damages for assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress, the lawsuit against Brown for throwing the furniture alleges he acted “without regard for human life” and claims the toddler now suffers night terrors thanks to trauma suffered during the incident.
