When the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LII, the organization held a meeting to talk about what the championship rings should look like. Someone suggested that they go with an “elegant design.” But Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said that “all the players jumped forward and said, ‘No, no no. The bigger and the bling-ier, the better.” So that’s what the team did to celebrate their historic first Super Bowl win.
The ring features 127 diamonds on the bezel paying tribute to the “Philly Special,” representing the sum of the jersey numbers of the three players who handled the ball post-snap: Corey Clement (30), Trey Burton (88) and Nick Foles (9). There is also an “underdog” mask inscribed on the inside of the ring.

The rings are made of pure 10-karat white gold, each containing a total of 219 diamonds and 17 green sapphires. The Eagles also featured the popular refrain, “We All We Got, We All We Need,” and the word “family.”
“It was an incredible season, and I wanted this ring to represent all the love, dedication, trust and resilience of this football team and this organization,” Lurie said, according to ESPN. “This ring is for all of us, and I’m very, very proud of what we’ve accomplished.”
The team met up for a private event to receive their rings. The rings were handed out one-by-one, complete with a highlight video of each team member playing on a large screen as they received their rings from Lurie.
In typical head coach-fashion, now that the rings are handed out, Doug Pederson is ready to start focusing on the upcoming season.
“Honestly, after the ring ceremony, to me, we’ve put that to bed, we’ve put that to rest, and we move on to 2018,” he said, according to ESPN.
