Down 10 points on the road in the fourth quarter, second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes engineered a pair of late touchdown drives to help the Kansas City Chiefs extend their perfect record to 4-0.

And the 23-year-old quarterback looked damn impressive while doing it.

After using every trick in his arsenal, Mahomes finished Monday’s 27-23 win over the Broncos with 304 passing yards and a touchdown by completing 28 of 45 passes. Adding to his night, Mahomes rushed three times for seven yards and another score.

He also extended plays and made a number of ridiculous throws, including one with his left hand (see above).

“It’s all situational,” Mahomes said of his throws. “There are times you can extend the play and give your receivers the chance to make plays, and there are times you need to stay within the pocket and just take what’s there.”

And make no mistake. While his numbers weren’t as gaudy as they have been in weeks past, Mahomes was able to perform under pressure and lead his team against the toughest defense they have faced to date.

Up next for Mahomes and the 4-0 Chiefs is a showdown against the vaunted Jaguars defense at home in Week 5. With the loss, the Broncos fell to 2-2.
