For those who miss the glory days when Brady, Manning, and Brees were young quarterbacks on the rise, the new generation of NFL quarterbacks may offer some solace. Though they may not break the records of the former group, Carson Wentz, Jared Goff, Deshaun Watson, and Jimmy Garoppolo are rising stars who came into their own this season, as Kevin Clark writes in The Ringer. Clark argues that the long-awaited arrival of an exciting young class of quarterbacks has to do with new flexibility in coaching style, as teams have begun to bend their schemes around the strengths and weaknesses of their young shot callers. Though only Goff will appear in next month’s playoffs, the four stars are likely to guide the direction of the league for years to come.
