On Sunday night in his hometown of Albuquerque, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones took to the streets to confront protesters who were vandalizing the city in the name of African-American murder victim George Floyd.
In a video the 32-year-old shared on social media, Jones demands that two men hand over their cans of spray paint. Smartly, they agree.

In his Instagram post, Jones questioned why “punk-ass teenagers” are destroying our cities if the protests even had anything to do with the death of Floyd at this point.
“As a young black man trust me I’m frustrated as well but this is not the way, we are starting to make a bad situation worse,” he wrote. “If you really got love for your city (505), protect your shit. All you old heads need to speak up, call your young family members and tell them to come home tonight.”
In UFC-related news, Jones tweeted Sunday that he plans to relinquish the light heavyweight belt and take some time off from the Octagon after negotiations about compensation for a proposed fight with Francis Ngannou have stalled.
