The Toronto Blue Jays seem to be ready to take one more swing at a run with their star player.
Sources confirmed to ESPN that third baseman Josh Donaldson agreed to a $23 million, one-year deal with the team — breaking the record for the highest salary for a player eligible for arbitration. That beats the previous high set last May when the Nationals resigned Bryce Harper for $21.65 million. Donaldson, 32, the 2015 AL MVP, had been the subject of reported trade interest throughout the offseason.
