We Just Found the Perfect Jacket for the Rest of the Season

03 October 2016

We've entered the second warmest month of year.

But just you try going outside without a jacket.

It's San Francisco, friend. When the sun goes down, the season changes.  And then you're going to want to reach for a top layer.

Luckily, we've found the one to get you through the rest of 2016, and beyond.

It's called the Eiger

Despite the Swiss name, its roots are Scottish. Now there's a country that can understand our climatic plight.

If someone's going to make you a waxed canvas jacket, you want that fabric to come from the east coast of Scotland, where fishermen have been battling the North Sea winds for centuries. And it does, courtesy of fabric manufacturer Halley Stevensons, from Dundee, Scotland.

They know waxed canvas so well their actual URL is waxedcotton.com

And they can handle our weather.

As for the Eiger: aside from the impeccable fabric, it boasts a third-point adjustable hood and more pockets than you have things to put in pockets. It'll dry fast and age well.

If you can come up with a better jacket for this part of the world, we want to know about it.
