Throwing Bows

Every sport has its uniform.

Baseball’s got stirrups and bunch-kneed pants. Ironman has that whole onesie thing.

Mountain biking? That uniform’s still awaiting consensus, but we’re leaning heavily toward what Petaluma’s own Kitsbow has on the table.

Foremost, Kitsbow’s aim is to make the perfect gear for off-road cycling — tough and technical with the right fit for any rough-riding handlebar jockey.

But unlike the aforementioned fashion tragedies of sport, you won’t look like a tool grabbing a post-ride beer in it.

Call it a happy side effect of co-founder Charlie Cronk’s days as a design lead at Levi’s.

To wit, their new Merino Ride Tee, the first offering from their forthcoming summer line.

It’s got all of the high-tech moisture control and airflow you’d want from a premium base layer and none of the ugly you’ve come to expect.

Because while biking might be a solo sport, looking good doing it is a team effort.
