After debating what to call their toughest re-engineered luxury SUV, the Rancho Cucamonga-based US Specialty Vehicles named their 10,000-pound model after a 7,700-pound mammal: Rhino.

Built on top of a Ford Super Duty F-450 chassis, the heavy-duty Rhino GX — which is sold as the G. Patton Edition internationally — is an 18.5-foot beast of a vehicle that can be equipped with either a 6.8-liter V10 gas or 6.7-liter diesel V8 engine depending on a buyer’s preference.

The rugged Rhino’s steel body rides on a fully hydraulic suspension that’s enhanced by custom-designed wheels and 38" Toyo Open Country tires.

Despite its rough exterior, the inside of the GX is pure luxury and is filled with quality leathers, wood veneers and highly polished finishes as well as the latest in modern technology.

“Quality checks are conducted at every level of the build process to ensure the final product is solid, strong and built to last,” according to USSV. "Hand-built details on a rugged road warrior describes the design essence and philosophy behind the Rhino GX.”

Available in flat black, Army green, or desert beige, the Rhino GX can seat anywhere from five to eight people based on customization options. Base model pricing starts at $194k.

No matter what model you choose, it’ll have a helluva horn.
