Like the 7-Minute Workout. But for Your Brain.

Learning is wasted on the young.

Not a real expression. Just a philosophical musing to kick off the school year.

Our thirst for knowledge only grows as the years soldier on and free time dwindles.

“If only had I had five minutes,” we say.

Highbrow is those five minutes.

The idea behind Highbrow is this: a new five-minute lesson arrives in your inbox once a day, at your preferred time, in the course of your choice.

After ten days, you’re done. They even purposely limit you to one course at a time, so as not to overload the ol’ noggin.

Ten days, fifty minutes and zero dollars later, you’re much, much smarter.

The micro-courses are divided into 10 categories (art, logic, productivity, science, etc.) and 54 bite-size courses.

Good stuff here: Brief History of Economic Thought. Street Artists You Should Know. Most Brilliant Social Psychology Experiments.

Their most popular? Philosophical Ideas That Everyone Should Know.

We already got you started on that one.

Nota bene: A few other micro-learning courses we dig include the “interesting fact of the day” email Today I Found Out, as well as the app Ten Words, a foreign language primer that sticks to ten words per day.
