Dubai Is Fighting Fires With Water-Powered Hoverboards Because Dubai

And you thought fire engines were cool

Dubai has found a way to literally elevate its firefighting game to new heights.

As part of the rollout of its new firefighting operation dubbed the Dolphin System, the Dubai Civil Defence this week dropped an epic video showing a smoke (water?) jumper racing to the scene of a fire on a jet ski.

In tow: a water-powered hoverboard.

In the video, the water-powered pack — which is equipped with a powerful hose — is used by another firefighter to reach an overheated truck on a bridge that would have otherwise been difficult to get to.

If you stop and think about it, the system is ingenious. Namely because the jet pack fuel (that’d be water) is not only used to extinguish fires, it’ll also never run out.

It also ensures the Dubai Civil Defence will never run short of applications for new firefighters.
