Jacket Of All Trades

Temperatures of late are like Time Warner service during the Super Bowl. A bit inconsistent. Fortunately, with jackets, you have options. Here are three jackets you should always have on hand.

The Shacket

The shacket (aka shirt jacket) is pretty much the ideal outer layer for the Los Angeles man. Not too heavy, not too light. Layer it over an oxford or a T-shirt and it still looks pretty righteous. This new indigo CPO by Apolis has wool-lined pockets for comfy hand-warming and snap buttons for a snug fit.

The Taylor

The Taylor is a timeless iteration of the varsity jacket, which stems for the Baracuta jacket worn by modish Brits in the ’60s. This recently released collab between Mohawk General Store and SF-based Golden Bear is made from linen and poly-cotton, comes in khaki, navy and chambray and is perfect year-round.

The Blazer

Blue Blue Japan’s slim-fitting denim blazer is thick enough for those visits to the new Ace Hotel’s rooftop, and casual enough that you won’t feel like you’re overdressed. And it’s available at Unionmade’s new location at the Grove.
