If you have a friend, relative, business colleague, ex-lover, former roommate, fraternity brother, sorority sister, online pen pal or actual pen pal who lives in Pennsylvania, look them up posthaste.

In what’s fast becoming an annual tradition, the Keystone State is again giving residents the chance to purchase ultra-rare bottles of Pappy Van Winkle at close-to-retail prices via a lottery.

This year, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board has 1,601 bottles of Pappy whiskey and bourbon at its disposal and will be selling them off singularly and in multiple bottle bundles. The offerings include Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye ($159.99), Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 23 Year ($399.99) and Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year ($79.99). The packages — which are also available to registered licensees in the state — start at $999.99.

In order to qualify for the drawings, lottery participants have to register here by December 3rd at 11 p.m. and select which of the bottles or packages they’d like to be eligible to purchase.

If you happen to luck into a bottle somehow, don’t do what former lottery winner Bob Monk did.
